Before & After Transformations

This is a typical example of how a wheelchair ramp made from pressure treated wood can degrade over time. This happens due to UV rays that damage the wood unless a UV absorbent sealer has been used. Dirt also gets into the wood pores and turns the wood gray. Fungus is another culprit that rots the wood usually beyond repair.

The best cure for pressure treated decks, ramps, docks and porches that are rotting and discolored and need help is 3 steps: 1) Pressure wash the surface with a solution of TSP, water and bleach being careful not to fray the wood by getting too close with the nozzle. 2) While it is still wet use a pump up sprayer to apply one coat of Deep Wood Fungus Killer (kills the source of wood rot) and follow that up immediately with one coat of StoneWood

(prevents future wood rot permanently). 3) Stain with Behr Premium Solid Stain after thoroughly dry. Questions? Call Mike at 540 840-7243

The photo shows typical deck repairs by Virginia Decking. If you provide the owner (Mike) with dimensions of your deck and some photos, he can normally provide a pretty close estimate of cost to affect repairs and staining. If we use Deep Wood Fungus Killer and StoneWood, you can have a deck that will give you many years of additional service... safe and beautiful once again.

Another typical example of the way in which pressure treated wood continues to decay, warp, and become more and more dangerous with time. We can help. Call Mike at (540) 390-5788 with deck dimensions and photos.

Rail caps are horizontal surfaces that are subject to UV rays, snow and standing water more than vertical railings. The wood splits with time... gets pollen into the cracks and accelerates the rotting process as it feeds the fungus. It is not long before the deck boards, stair treads and rail caps need to be replaced. Call us for help.  (540) 390-5788.

Above photos show an ice pick being easily pushed into a deck post that supports the deck. Deck posts in ground contact are dangerously susceptible to fungal decay. The cure in this case is replacement... but not with a post that will quickly decay as fast as the original.  StoneWood is the solution.

Why Deck Staining & Repair Is Critical

Without maintenance, decks suffer peeling, cracking, UV damage, water intrusion, mold, rot, and structural weakness. Proper repairs and staining extend deck life by 5–15 years and improve resale value.

Stone Wood Permanent Internal Deck Protection

Stone Wood is a silica aerogel based internal wood sealer that permanently blocks moisture, fungus, and rot from inside the wood — providing protection no surface sealer or stain can match. Click the link to find out how to cure deck rot and prevent it from ever returning.
